Barefoot Power is a global, for-profit social enterprise that designs, manufactures and distributes solar-powered lighting and phone charging products to people at the base of the global economic pyramid, and provides business development and financing services that create and support jobs and income generation in poor communities around the world.

Job Description:

As business development associate, you will develop new relationships and maintain existing relationships with all assigned customer accounts through personal visits, periodic calls, emails and letters. You will work under the supervision of the Sales Manager to the Americas and Asia: building existing accounts, initiating new accounts, attending conferences and other events, research and analyzing data, resolving customer complaints, coordinating warranty support, making decisions and solving problems. Position will be based in Epping, NSW, Australia with periodic travel.

Key Qualities:

- Previous sales experience is not necessarily required. We have a selling system and we will train you, always focusing on your development as a successful sales person. What is required is a positive, engaged attitude, a willingness to learn, and an ability to see possibilities and work toward them.

- Must have excellent writing and communication skills in English

- Good organizational skills

- Good listener, interested in people

- Specifically interested in helping people toward our mission of improving access to renewable energy

- Experience with NGOs or MFIs

- Confident to take on new challenges

- Competent in research and data analysis, attentive to detail

- Computer literate with Microsoft Office Suite

- Willing and able to learn new software

- Demonstrates initiative, creativity, flexibility

- Ability to work independently and effectively in groups

- Knowledge about solar power and electric power systems a plus
