Use this area to post information on actual projects in the field. These can be research or pilot projects, or full-blown rollouts to broad markets. To add a project, simple create a post with a title that is descriptive. Put a link on the Google map, with any summary info you'd like into the bubble associated with your place-marker. Be sure to include a link from the market’s pop-up bubble back to your post so people can learn more if they initially find your project via the map. To start off your post, copy the following headings into your post and add your info to them. You can come back any time and update your info. ~ Project name: ~ Description: ~ Location (town/city/country): ~ Organizations involved: ~ Date started/ended: ~ Sponsors: ~ Number of lighting systems deployed as of 20_ _: ~ Results: ~ Links to other docs: ~ One or more photos: View Discussions

This area of the LuminaNET site contains a series of 80 draft Country Lighting Assessments based on a modelling effort that quantifies the magnitude of fuel-based off-grid lighting around the world. Prepared by the UNEP/GEF en.lighten initiative in close collaboration with the Lumina Project at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, these country reports offer estimates of off-grid lighting energy consumption, CO2 emissions and the savings potential for switching from fuel-based lighting to solar LED systems. Taken together, these 80 countries represent 1.33 billion people living in 285 million off-grid households around the world. View Discussions
