There is a webinar happening on institutionalizing energy training on rural electrification on 22nd May. Space is limited. Reserve your Webinar seat now at: https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/885986422 This webinar, jointly held by the Clean Energy Solutions Center and the United Nations Foundation’s Energy Access Practitioner Network, aims to introduce attendees to some current approaches to developing local capacity by institutionalizing training on rural electrification in developing countries. It will focus on the work of two Practitioner Network member institutions and their work in integrating courses related to the installation and maintenance of renewable energy solutions into national curricula. Two expert practitioners will share their experience in three African countries – Mali, Burkina Faso and Ethiopia – through the ongoing work of Électricité De France (EDF) and Stiftung Solarenergie’s solar training academy. Participants will have a chance to hear directly about the status of vocational training programs in these countries, core competences taught to local technicians to match the needs of industry and community, lessons learned and barriers to full integration or scaling up. This webinar will benefit those who are interested in off-grid electrification and the educational aspects of developing needed capacity to install, service and maintain renewable energy off-grid solutions in a range of African contexts.
