I’m the Director of Research & Impact for a social enterprise, NGO and charity called SolarAid; SolarAid seeks to eradicate the kerosene lamp from Africa and to enable everyone to enjoy clean energy access through building a market for microsolar lights. We’re committed to business-based solutions to poverty and have created a social enterprise, SunnyMoney, which is increasingly recognised as a leading innovator in the distribution of microsolar lights in east Africa.

Stewart Craine said… Hi Kat. I noted that your team is running a picosolar project with the Senegalese Rural Electrification Agency and the Ministry of Education to get more lamps to people via schools. I'd love to hear more about that, as we would like to partner with you to make 3 year loans via solar charging stations and find a financially sustainable way to scale that up. I did something similar with SELCO in India and they now have a Light for Education program that is ramping up quickly. Please email me when you can.
Regards,
Stewart
