Sankalp Awards 2014: Applications Open

India’s leading social enterprise honors are back in their 6th year to discover and showcase innovative early-stage businesses that create social impact.

Mumbai: The world’s largest social enterprise focused platform, Sankalp Forum announces the launch of the 6th edition of Sankalp Awards to recognize high-impact businesses in the following categories:

  1. Agriculture, Food and Livelihoods
  2. Clean Energy / Clean Technology
  3. Financial Inclusion
  4. Education / Vocational Training
  5. Health, Water and Sanitation &
  6. Technology for Development
  7. Women Empowerment

Aparajita Agrawal, Director – Sankalp Forum, said, “Sankalp Award winners have demonstrated the ability to combine innovation and an astute spirit of entrepreneurship to create affordable access to basic facilities where they don’t exist. And more crucially, they’ve leveraged the support that we have offered to create robust business models, and scale.”

Since their inception, the Awards have sourced over 450 sustainable enterprises, enabled 200 mentoring connections and facilitated over USD 120Mn of equity investments.

Enterprises stand to gain: 

  • Cash grant incentives and pro-bono business services 
  • Opportunity to raise angel funding up to INR 5 Cr through India's first angel network for Impact (I3N) and access debt funding at preferred rates from IntelleGrow, a venture debt fund
  • Opportunity to make an investment pitch to leaders from global financial institutions and investment houses like USAID, DFID, Artha Platform, Aavishkaar, Omnivore Partners, Seedfund and many more
